HOW I GOT STARTED IN PORN

As I've mentioned before I was a very skinny kid. Well, that continued to follow me my whole life. For years I was a Gymnast and then a Modern Dancer. No matter how hard I worked on my body, all that I could ever achieve was for it to be very toned. I never achieved any bulk or much definition.

In January of 1998 I decided to join a gym. I was so scared of being seen naked by all these muscle men that I used to take my pants off and have my shirt hanging down and then put my shorts on so no one would see me naked. I just had a very low self-image when it came to my body. I wasn't a skeleton or anything just skinny and didn't like the way I looked. I had tried those protein drinks through the years to gain weight and they never worked. After a few times at the gym I started to realize my body wasn't as skinny and out of shape as I thought. I also realized that Many of the men working out there were very out of shape and I actually looked better than they did. After a few months my body started to change and I was starting to get more confident.

I had become a good friend with Thomas Lloyd who I knew as "Technostud" in the Yahoo Gay Men's Chat Room . He told me he was also a Porn Star and so I went to his site. Of course I was Very attracted to him. While on his site I noticed links to Porn Studios and decided to check them out. I was very sheltered to the Porn world and had only seen about 1 or 2 movies. Most of my Porn Education at that point had come from Magazines.

When I would look at the men in these magazines they all looked beautiful, perfect, with the right bodies and equipment. Once I started going to these online Porn Sites I realized that I, in fact, had an equal if not better body than many of the men pictured. I also noticed that many of these sites had studio information and "casting" e-mail addresses for you to send in your picture to see if you had what it takes.

Not having any pictures to send in I thought I was lost. Thomas had pointed me to his other site GayPornStars.net and I started viewing many of the sites and seeing more of what the world of Porn had to offer. I thought I could definitely do this. Where I lacked in the dick area I was told I more than made up for in the Ass. So, I bit the bullet and when I was on a weekend vacation last October with some (girl) friends from college I had them take some underwear shots of me. I scanned them in and sent them to my friends from Yahoo and people seemed to like them. Things were going very well with Thomas and me over the Internet and through mail. I had a small hiatus from the series I was working on in NYC for Thanksgiving so I thought I might visit him in CA and made the reservations. Thomas introduced me to a few of his Porn friends and I had a blast.

I decided since the series I was working on was now cancelled, I would visit again for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Years and look for an apartment out in California. I had lived here 3 years before when I was working on a movie called GIA and really wanted to move here. I felt now was the time. While here at Christmas I looked for an apartment and a job. I was introduced to more of the Porn World and felt very good about my accomplishments at the gym. I decided to move to West Hollywood, CA and got an apartment right down the hall from Thomas. The 3 weeks I went back to NYC to pack up my things and move out here I was also sending out those underwear pictures to different studios and directors in the Porn World. Many of them seemed interested and said they needed to see naked shots. Well I didn't have any so I thought I was lost. A few of the people contacted me and said they would like to meet me once I arrived in California and might be able to work with me. So, I arrived in California on February 1, 1999 and on February 4, 1999 I was on the set of my first Porn Film in a STARRING ROLE!!!

I decided to make a web page. Geocities is where I started. Thomas was teaching me web design and I was implementing it as fast as I could. I used my web site to promote myself and learned that there were many forums out there such as ATKOL, ManNet, RAD Video that I could use to gain information about the porn world and promote myself at the same time. Well, that is an understatement. I learned to market myself very quickly on the Internet and was soon meeting with Agents and Directors all the time. I had finally gotten a photographer to take those always-needed naked pictures. Because my site was on Geocities, I wasn't allowed to show naked parts of my body so I had to censor the pictures.

By the end of May I was well known all over the Internet and had filmed starring roles in 5 movies. At this time I was also nominated for a MEN IN VIDEO AWARD for HOTTEST RISING STAR OF 1999. This was amazing to me because none of my films had even come out yet. I had just publicized myself so well that people took notice and I'd appeared in the Unzipped Magazine and In Touch Magazine with Thomas for various events around town. People now knew who I was and were starting to take notice. I didn't win the Award but in my case, the nomination is what counts because it helped solidify my standing in the Adult Industry. I now own (thanks to Thomas Lloyd as a Birthday Present) MichaelKnight.Net and intend to use it to my advantage even further. I'd like to make my own home movies and sell them to the fans. There is money to be made and I need it.

I don't think I will ever be happy with my body. It's a constant work in progress. I have good features that I can promote further like my Ass and my Eyes so that is what I'll do. I'm more of an "everyman" than I am a Porn Superstar. I want to go as far in Porn as I possibly can but realize that as much as I enjoy it, it's just a side career, a hobby. I work in mainstream TV Series/Film Production and that is where I make my living. I'm happy doing that.

Never in my life did I ever think I would take my clothes off and have sex in front of a room full of people for a camera. But I do it and I really enjoy it. I change my life all the time. I grow all the time. This is just a chapter (or a few) in my life story. Every experience teaches me and lets me grow and that is really what it's all about. Learning and growing.

I'm also in the process of working to try and establish my own personal home movies like I said but from that I'd also like to eventually bring other people into these movies and start a series and then build it even further. There is something for everyone and someone for everyone. I'm just looking to promote and gain a new experience in this venture.
